The Wave by Todd Strasser #4 |
1) I think that Ben Ross is now starting to realize that he was turning into some kind of dictator. When he made orders, it happened. The other teachers did not like how he had this power and they said that Mr. Ross was brainwashing the students. Ben Ross turned into a leader, like how Robert wanted to be his bodyguard.
2) One sentence that stood out to me was on page 100. "Come on, Laurie, the only reason you're against The Wave is because it means you're not a princess anymore." This sentence stood out to me because it showed how effected the students were because of The Wave. Amy, Laurie's best friend, told her that she has became jealous of the Wave has turned out. She thought that Laurie didn't like it because she wasn't the center of attention anymore.
3) Do you think that this experiment relates to what happpened with the Nazi? |

2. That sentence also stood out to me because I made me think that maybe a part of why she is against The Wave is maybe because she is jealous.
3. I think that it does relate because when the fight went on between the person inside the Wave and a person who was outside it the Wave people did keep little part of the stroy to themselves just like how the Nazi didn't tell anyone how they were killing people.

#1 I liked on how you said the Ben Ross turned into a leader because Robert wanted to be his bodyguard.
#3 One way that the experiment relates to the nazis is that a way like you either join this side or else...

1: I like how you supported your answer. I remember that part when they said he was brainwashing them. I thought it was pretty mean but it is kinda true.
2: I loved that sentance it was mine too. I really wanted to know what was gonna happen next. I agree of how you may think that he is jealous.

1. yes I also think he is realizing that he is becoming a dictator.
3. I think it does relate to the nazi's because hitler brain washed people and its like ben brain washed the students.

#1 I think that it is more than just that the other teachers didn't like the fact that he was a leader. I agree with you, but I think you should have written more on how Ben feels.
#3 I do think that this has to do with the Nazis because it's like if you're not in The Wave than you are treated worse than all of the other kids like in the movie.
